Micromechanics & local fields

DAMASK studies that start from the measured state of a material, apply a process-relevant loading path, and return microstructure-resolved stress and strain you can compare directly with experiments.

When the microstructure itself is the question

Complex packet structures and internal morphology can be studied directly when the question is whether microstructure complexity itself is driving the response — for example bainitic steels with strongly inhomogeneous local deformation. The same field-based outputs make it possible to attribute the response to specific structural features.
